This book was enjoyable but I was left wanting much more. Why was Merricat so psychologically flawed? Did her family know about it before the "big event"? What was the reason for the sister's behavior and why was she forgiven in one sense but not in the mind's of the townspeople?
It starts out with a great premise but kind of falls flat in the end. Would of made a great Twilight Zone episode, but even they would have added a little more punch to the end.
Great introduction to Shrley Jackson for me. I have seen The Lottery in movie form, but haven't read it.
